Introduced in 1963, the advanced Mercedes-Benz 600 was equipped with adjustable air suspension, a 6.3-liter V-8 engine with mechanical fuel injection, and a hydraulic system that powered the seats, windows, and automatic closing doors. Expensive and imposing, the Mercedes-Benz 600's only true marketplace rival was the equally stately Rolls-Royce. A mere 2,677 units were built by the time production ceased in 1981. Actor Jack Nicholson drove this 600 in the film The Witches of Eastwick (1987). Other celebrities who have owned a Mercedes-Benz 600 include Elvis Presley, Hugh Hefner, and John Lennon.
